English as an additional language (EAL) is a place to connect with people and help them improve English skills through classes at Church of the Rock. Our mission at Church of the Rock is to KNOW GOD, LIVE FREE, and FIND PURPOSE.

EAL Conversation Using the Bible – Sunday mornings

Learn English by using the Bible.

  • 9:30-10:45 AM – Sunday mornings during the first service at 1397 Buffalo Place
  • Kidz Rock is available for children to attend during class.
  • It is for Christians or for people who want to learn about Christianity.
  • ongoing (except holiday Sundays: Dec. 24, Dec. 31, Mar. 31 )

EAL Adult Conversation Using the Bible – Wednesday evenings

Learn English by using the Bible.

  • INTERMEDIATE Level
  • We meet weekly at 7:00 PM on Wednesdays in classroom A1 (at 1397 Buffalo Place)
  • Starts Sept. 27 to Dec. 13, 2023 and continues Jan. 10-Mar. 13, 2024
  • It is for Christians or for people who want to learn about Christianity.
  • No childcare available.
  • Sign-up required.

Alpha ESOL – Sunday mornings

  • Starts Oct. 1-Dec. 17, 2023 and continues Jan. 7-Mar. 17, 2024
  • We meet weekly from 9:30-11:00 AM on Sundays in classroom A5 (at 1397 Buffalo Place)
  • Kidz Rock is available for children to attend during class.
  • Sign-up required.
What is Alpha ESOL?
  • Alpha ESOL is designed for people who do not speak English as their first language.
  • Alpha ESOL will help to answer questions about life and faith and many more in a relaxed, friendly, non-threatening environment.
  • You will also have the opportunity to practice listening to, speaking and reading English.
  • Each week we will have a speaker, and times of discussion led by a host.
  • You can feel free to respond honestly in the discussion and share what you think and feel about what you have heard.
  • Participants are encouraged to ask tough questions with no fear of feeling judged or pressured.
